A pálya legutóbb 2017-ben rendezett F1-es futamot, most pedig az Azerbajdzsáni Nagydíj és a Szingapúri Nagydíj közötti, október 4-i üres hétvégén fogadja majd a mezőnyt.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>A csavar a történetben, hogy nem Maláj Nagydíjnak fogják hívni a versenyt, hanem Bahreini Nagydíjnak, miután vélhetően az arab ország állja a rendezés költségeit. A verseny hivatalos neve 2026 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia lesz.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Bár egészen szürreálisan hangzik, hogy a Bahreini Nagydíjat Malajziában rendezik, ez igazából csak a két ország közötti nagy távolság miatt rendhagyó, olyanra ugyanis többször volt már példa az F1 történetében, hogy egy ország nagydíja egy másik országban lévő pályán zajlott. A legékesebb példája ennek a San Marinó-i Nagydíj, hiszen a 61 négyzetkilométeren elterülő miniállam területén nem található versenypálya, hanem a közeli Imolában rendezett futamot nevezték el így 26 éven keresztül 1981 és 2006 között, így lehetett Olaszország két helyszínnel is jelen a naptárban. Ebbe a sorba illik még az 1982-ben rendezett Svájci Nagydíj a franciaországi Dijonban, 1997-98-ban pedig a Luxemburgi Nagydíjnak adott otthont a németországi Nürburgring.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Ez a furcsa kereszteződés egy újabb példája annak, hogy Bahrein Forma–1-gyel megkötött szerződése nem egy hagyományos szerződés: az év elején a barcelonai tesztről azért nem volt közvetítés és azért nem lehetett tesztnek nevezni sem, mert Bahreinnek megállapodása volt arról, hogy ők rendezik az első 2026-os tesztet.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Várhatóan az Arab-félszigeten egyetlen versenyt sem fognak rendezni az idei évben, ehelyett még \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fracingline.hu\u002Fforma-1\u002Fvaratlan-meg-iden-megrendezhetik-a-valaha-volt-leghidegebb-f1-es-versenyt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">egy európai forduló ugorhat be szezonzárónak\u003C\u002Fa>, amire a legfrissebb hírek szerint a fő esélyesnek Imola tűnik, de Portimao és Isztambul is
