Tavaly a csapatok alkalmanként 450 ezer dollárnyi extrapénzhez jutottak a három sprintfutam esetében, amelyhez még százezer adódott hozzá, hogy fedezze az esetleges balesetek költségeit. Ez 2022-re egy egyszeri 500.000 dolláros összegre változott volna az első öt sprintverseny esetében, majd további 150 ezer minden egyes további alkalomra. Ez viszont nem tartalmazott extra összeget balesetek esetére.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Ebbe a legtöbb csapat belement volna, \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Ff1i.com\u002Fnews\u002F431237-f1-set-for-three-sprint-races-in-2022-as-cost-dispute-lingers.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a hírek szerint kettőt kivéve\u003C\u002Fa>: a Red Bullt és a Mercedest. Ebből alakult ki a patthelyzet.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>„\u003Cem>Az egyik csapat ezek miatt egy ötmilliós költségsapka-növelést szeretett volna. Ez egyszerűen teljesen megindokolhatatlan\u003C\u002Fem>” – fogalmazott ezzel kapcsolatban Zak Brown McLaren-csapatfőnök még a múlt hónapban.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Miután az F1 illetékesei az ötmilliós emelésbe nem mentek bele, kompromisszumként felmerült, hogy maradjon akkor idén is mindössze három sprintverseny. Amennyiben viszont a fentebb említett csapatok ezt sem fogadják el, akkor könnyedén előfordulhat az is, hogy 2022-ben egyáltalán nem lesz sprintverseny a szezon során.
