A Stratégiai Csoport csütörtökön tartott londoni megbeszélésén nem sikerült egyhangúlag megszavazni a szabály 2018-as bevezetését, így az a következő évben kezdődő szezonra csúszik. A 2019-es szabályok különválasztják a versenyző és az autó tömegét: a versenyzőknek 80 kg-os minimum limitet határoztak meg.
